The Map Types library manages the different categories and variations of maps used in CrewVision. This includes child maps, company-specific maps, and textures.
Access this library from the left navigation under Libraries > Property Management > Map Types.
Child Maps
Child Maps are seasonal or condition-specific variations of a parent Seasonal Inventory Map. They keep the same service area boundaries while allowing different service types to be applied based on the season or situation.
Example: A property may have a main Winter Inventory Map. You can then create multiple Child Maps such as:
Light Snowfall
Medium Snowfall
Heavy Snowfall
Freezing Rain
This structure provides flexibility for real-world operational differences.
Textures
The Textures tab contains a library of visual textures that can be applied to Service Areas. Textures help visually differentiate similar service area types on maps.
Table Columns (Textures tab)
Title – Name of the texture (example: No Salt, Ice Melt Only).
Texture – Preview of the pattern.
Status – Active or Inactive.
Date Added and Last Modified – Tracking timestamps.
Action – Edit the texture.
Use the + Add New button to create additional map types or textures. These libraries are foundational for organizing and visually communicating your seasonal operations across the Map Browser and Property Editor.
