Service Areas are the foundational building blocks of every property map in CrewVision. They represent the specific zones on a property where work will be performed, such as lawn sections, sidewalks, parking lots, or roof areas.
Service Areas are fully interactive, color-coded shapes that drive job assignment, square footage calculations, dispatch routing, and billing.
Creating Service Areas
To create a new Service Area:
Open the Property Editor for the desired property.
In the Service Areas tab of the Control Bar, click Add New.
Select a Service Area Type and enter a unique title.
Draw the shape directly on the map using the vector tools.
Apply custom repeating textures if desired to improve visual distinction.
Once drawn, click Save in the title bar to store the changes.
Managing Service Areas
The Service Areas list displays all zones for the current property. From this list you can:
Edit an area (title, type, texture, tags)
Duplicate an area
Create cutouts for complex shapes
Delete an area
Each Service Area supports tagging, which helps with grouping, reporting, and advanced filtering across the platform.
Service Area Types
Service Area Types define the category of work (e.g., mowing, shoveling, salting). Each type can have its own default color and is used by the Dispatch module to assign the correct crews and equipment.
Integration
Service Areas are tightly integrated with the rest of CrewVision:
They feed directly into the Dispatch Board for job assignment.
Square footage from Service Areas is used for pricing and reporting.
Crews see their assigned Service Areas clearly on the mobile app.
