The Dispatch Board serves as the primary operational control center within CrewVision. It provides dispatchers, operations managers, and administrators with a comprehensive, real-time view of all active and scheduled work across their organization.
Designed as a flexible Kanban-style interface, the Dispatch Board enables users to manage job assignments, optimize crew routes, and coordinate field operations with precision and ease. Whether handling routine daily service routes or orchestrating large-scale, multi-day events such as major snowstorms, the board delivers the control and visibility required to maintain operational efficiency.
Accessing the Dispatch Board
Users can navigate to the Dispatch Board at any time through the left-hand main menu. After selecting Dispatch, choose Dispatch Board. The interface loads with the most relevant dispatch view based on the applied filters, allowing immediate access from anywhere in the application.
Core Design and Functionality
The Dispatch Board organizes work using a column-based Kanban layout. Each column represents an individual crew, while the cards within that column display all jobs currently assigned to that crew for the selected dispatch or event.
Jobs appear as individual cards that contain essential information such as property address, service type, square footage or acreage details, and current status. The board supports intuitive drag-and-drop interactions that streamline daily operations. Users can rearrange jobs vertically within a single crew’s column to optimize the sequence of the route. They can also drag jobs horizontally between columns to reassign work from one crew to another as needed.
Dispatch Management and Filtering
The Dispatch Board offers robust filtering options to match different operational needs. Users can view pending dispatches for future planning, active dispatches that are currently in progress (multiple dispatches can run simultaneously), or completed past dispatches for historical review and performance analysis.
For extended operations, the system supports Dispatch Events — periods longer than 24 hours. This feature allows teams to manage continuous work across multiple days within a single unified view. Dispatchers can activate a dispatch when operations begin and formally close it once all work is complete, providing clear start and end points for reporting and billing purposes.
Clicking on any job card opens the full Dispatch Job Card, which contains detailed property information, service requirements, attached site maps, GPS-tagged media, customer notes, and direct communication tools with the assigned crew.
